Snoop Dogg Will Host the NFL Honors in New Orleans Ahead of Super Bowl Sunday

Snoop Dogg is taking his talents to the NFL!

The hip-hop legend has been selected to host the NFL Honors on Thursday, February 6, at the Saenger Theater in New Orleans. The special primetime awards show will recognize the NFL’s best players, performances and plays from the 2024 season before the 2025 Super Bowl, according to a press release shared with PEOPLE.

The NFL Honors, which first began in 2012, will include a myriad of awards, from the prestigious Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award to being named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2024 – along with multiple awards from the Associated Press, such as the AP ‘s Comeback Player of the Year, AP Coach of the Year and AP Most Valuable Player.

Snoop Dogg, 52, captivated a global audience last summer when he co-hosted NBC’s coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Before offering his take on the events on the world’s biggest sporting stage, Snoop also carried the Olympic torch on its final leg before the opening ceremony in Paris.

After becoming the highlight of the Paris Olympics, Snoop spoke with PEOPLE and said the experience was completely unexpected.

“Never, never, never,” Snoop said in September. “It’s not that I couldn’t or didn’t want to, but it was never in my stuff because it was beyond my ability.”

“Over the years I felt like I was ready for this,” he said when asked to be a commentator for the Paris Olympics. “I show that I am reliable, professional, that I know what I am doing and that people like to see me.”

The NFL Honors will air live at 9:00 PM ET on FOX and NFL Network and will be streamed on NFL+.
