WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Episode 5 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol. After Ginette’s shocking death in episode 4, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon It continues to kill off its main antagonist when Daryl murders one of his greatest enemies, but the villain’s death feels a little uncomfortable. Although Genette’s The Walking Dead Her death was a bit disappointing considering her potential as a villain, but her departure did help elevate Daryl’s remaining foes. As a result, the protagonist’s inevitable conflict with Lausanne feels stronger than ever, and the battle does not disappoint. The showdown may come sooner than expected, but it’s still fun to see these two experienced fighters fighting to the death.
With L’Union’s betrayal of Daryl Dixon early in season 2, the rivalry between Lauzon and Daryl became quite personal, and while neither side’s primary goal was to kill the other, their The tension reaches a fever pitch in episode five. Lausanne is desperate to find Laurent and keep L’Union’s vision alive, which means he is more than willing to capture the boy through Daryl. Likewise, Daryl’s main goal is to get Laurent to safety Zone to the Federation, meaning the two characters have no choice but to fight, and while their confrontation makes things clear from a combat perspective, there’s one major detail missing that feels a bit odd.
Daryl Dixon never found out Lausanne killed Isabelle
Lausanne’s death means Daryl may never know the truth about what happened to Isabelle
Despite Daryl and Lobsang’s epic battle in episode five, Daryl never found out that Lobsang was responsible for Isabelle’s death. Although he decides not to tell Isabelle that he loves her, it’s clear that the protagonist had strong feelings for his lover before her death, and that Isabelle felt the same way. The two shared some passionate moments that left Isabelle The Walking Dead Death hurt a little more; however, although Daryl was by her side during her final moments, he never asked Isabel what happened, leaving the cause of her death a mystery.
Carol knew she had been stabbed, and assuming she told Daryl this information, he might have assumed it was Lobsang. Still, her death isn’t mentioned when the two confront each other, and even though Daryl brutally kills the villain, there doesn’t seem to be any pent-up anger being unleashed on him. There’s some personal vendetta between them given the storyline of Season 2, but the final moments of the fight didn’t feel like Daryl was seeking revenge on someone who killed someone close to him, it just felt like the protagonists were dealing with things.

Daryl Dixon Season 2 Episode 4 ended with the two evil factions joining forces, with major consequences for the final episodes.
So unless these details are brought up in the Season 2 finale, it seems like Daryl will never find out who killed Isabelle. Even though episode six did reveal this, it almost feels irrelevant now that the opponent is dead, creating a somewhat strange atmosphere for their showdown. The fight is still great, but there could’ve been more emotion behind it if Daryl had carried his anger over Isabelle’s death, which suggests there was some slight wasted potential in this highly anticipated fight.
Lausanne’s death would have been much better if Daryl knew how Isabel died.
This fight isn’t as personal as it could be
Having Daryl join the fight knowing Lauzon killed Isabelle will give the battle some extra advantages. Not only would this small tweak make Daryl’s brutal killings more meaningful, but it would also allow for some compelling dialogue during the fight. Killing Isabelle seemed to set Lausanne down a darker path, and having him potentially mock and ridicule Daryl as Isabelle grew up would have shown how much his mission has changed him. Additionally, this could lead to Daryl making more mistakes, making the fight drag out longer while making his eventual victory feel more victorious.
Alternatively, Lobsang could show remorse for his actions, which would make Daryl’s savage beating of the villain to death seem even more brutal.
Alternatively, Lobsang could show remorse for his actions, which would make Daryl’s savage beating of the villain to death seem even more brutal. Daryl and Lausanne’s The Walking Dead The fight had a lot of merit, but it lacked the emotional weight that had been built up throughout the season, and having Lausanne exploit Isabelle’s death in some way might have made their fight more iconic. Not using Lausanne’s most sinister moments as ammunition for this encounter feels like a strange decision, but that doesn’t stop the fight itself from living up to the hype.
The final battle with Lausanne remains one of Daryl’s best moments on The Walking Dead
Daryl’s brutal victory over Lausanne proves just how violent he can be
Darryl had many memorable moments in his life The Walking Dead tenure, but his fight with Lausanne was there. One-on-one combat only happens on special occasions in the Zombies series, but when it does, it tends to work. Daryl’s showdown with Beta contains some gripping drama, showcasing what a formidable warrior Daryl is, and his conflict with Lausanne serves as a reminder of this. Seeing the protagonist strategically use his weapons against worthy opponents while thinking on his feet to avoid disaster is exactly why fans love Daryl so much.

The ruthless nature of his kills also shows how far the protagonist is willing to go when pushed. Even the fight where Daryl takes out Lauzon’s men in the dark makes him feel like a Batman-level threat, especially when he emerges from the shadows and comes face to face with his adversary. It may not have eclipsed some of Daryl’s best work yet The Walking Dead scenes, such as saving Alexander or standing up to Negan, but his fight with Lausanne was an unforgettable encounter that made Daryl Dixon The showdown in episode five is one of the character’s best moments in the entire series.
