Her first husband, Nawal Hormusji Tata, was a businessman. After the death of Ratanji Tata, Naval was adopted from an orphanage by Navajbhai Tata as the couple had no children. He died of cancer on May 5, 1989, in Mumbai. Suni and Navarre parted ways in 1948.
Naval and Sunil have two sons, Ratan Naval Tata and Jimmy Naval Tata. Ratan was the former chairman of the Tata Group; he died on October 9, 2024. Jimmy owns shares in the Tata Group.
After divorcing Sooni, Naval married businesswoman Simone Tata, co-founder of Lakmé. Their son Noel Tata is chairman of Trent Tata Investments, managing director of Tata International, and vice chairman of Titan Corporation and Tata Steel.
