Sophie Ecclestone was born on Thursday, May 6, 1999, in Chester, Cheshire, England (24 years old; as of 2023). Her zodiac sign is Taurus. She joined Alvanley Cricket Club when she was 7 years old. Ecclestone went through the under-13s, 15s and under-17s before making her debut for Cheshire Women’s County in 2013. She later joined the Lancashire women’s cricket team and made her debut against Nottinghamshire. 16 years old. International
After impressing in domestic competition, she quickly broke into the England academy squad. She also played in the England development program before being selected for the England Academy winter squad and touring Sri Lanka in 2016. During that tour, she took 16 wickets in the Academy’s three-match series against Australia A and Sri Lanka A, including four wickets against the latter at Panagoda . She made her debut in an international T20I against Pakistan at Bristol County Ground on 3 July 2016 during Pakistan Women’s tour of England. On 8 October 2016, she made her ODI debut against the West Indies Women at Trelawney Stadium in Jamaica during the England women’s tour of the West Indies. She played an important role in the team’s victory. She made her debut on 9 November 2017 in the 2017/18 Women’s Ashes Cup match against Australia Women at North Sydney Oval, Sydney. In 2017, Ecclestone was named Lancashire Cricket Board Young Player of the Year. She was selected in the England squad for the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20. England reached the finals of the event; however, they lost to Australia. She took 10 wickets in 5 matches in the 2018 England Women’s Tri-Nations Series (against South Africa and New Zealand). England won the series. As the highest wicket-taker, Ecclestone was named the player of the series.

In February 2019, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) awarded her a full central contract. In the same year, the European Cricket Council named her in England’s squad for the first match against Australia in the Women’s Ashes Cup. In January 2020, she was named in England’s squad for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia. On March 1, 2020, during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020, she became the youngest woman to take 50 wickets in WT20I cricket, an achievement she achieved in 34 matches; this was also Her 100th wicket in international cricket. At the end of the World Cup, she became the world’s number one bowler in Women’s Twenty20 International (WT20I) cricket with eight tournament wickets, an average of 6.12 and an economy rate of just 3.23. In 2020, she represented the Trail Blazers in the Women’s T20 Challenge, the Indian women’s cricket Twenty20 tournament. IPL Trail Blazers won their first title by defeating IPL Supernovas by 16 runs in the final.
