Sophie Turner is not much of a foodie.
In a new video for British VogueThe 28-year-old actress admitted she has the “palate of a two-year-old” as she took part in the magazine’s “Great British Test: The Takeaway Edition” challenge.
While blindfolded, Turner was served an array of takeaways and tried to identify what they were. It is a suitable challenge for Game of Thrones star, as she shared in the video that it’s all about getting takeaway food, as she lacks culinary skills.
“I love take-out. I live for takeout. I spend most of my life ordering takeout,” she said. “I’m not the best cook in the world. I’ll cook for my kids, but that’s about it. I won’t cook for myself because I know it will be rubbish.”
At one point in the taste test, she was given a battered sausage that she immediately recognized. She dipped it in some ketchup and took a big bite. “Oh yeah. That’s good,” she protested and added, “I have the palate of a two year old so I like salty. And besides, I don’t really want anything else on it.”

Turner also sampled some of the fried chicken — which she described as “perfect” and “banging” — and said the taste was reminiscent of a late night out on the town.
“It’s just bringing back memories of, like, after you’ve been out at the local club or whatever, then there’s always like a chicken coop across the street. So this brings back memories of 2:00 in the morning, you know?” she said.

Also on the menu during the challenge is tikka masala, which Turner complained is never as good in the US as it is in England and elsewhere. “You can’t get good Indian takeout in the US,” she insisted.

After enjoying a few bites of tikka masala, Turner revealed that she likes to grab takeout with her guests during filming.
She said that she and Maisie Williams – who played her sister Game of Thrones — loved staying in the same hotel room together and “slept every night” while working on the long-running series, which aired from 2011 to 2019.

Their nightly dinner routine included a trip to the local Tesco store across the street, where they loaded up on snacks. “We would never prepare our own food or order a proper meal,” she explained. “We’d have, like, chicken nuggets from Tesco and walnuts and Peperamis, and that would kind of be it.”

in British Vogue video, Turner also spoke Game of Thrones’ the notorious coffee mug faux pas. During the fourth episode of the series’ eighth and final season, viewers spotted a very fashionable disposable coffee cup on the dining room table in one of the scenes.
“I think it was a little embarrassing that none of us noticed,” Staircase said the actress. “It was pretty obvious.”
“It actually caused quite a bit of controversy on set,” she continued. “We were all pointing fingers at each other, and it turned into a game [The] Traitors. Someone should have been fired for that.”
