- In 2017, NDTV removed a report by Jain and Manas Pratap Singh about loans to Jay Shah’s companies during the BJP government. He wrote in a post on Facebook,
A week ago, a report that Manas Pratap Singh and I wrote about the loans to Jay Shah’s company was removed from the NDTV website. NDTV’s lawyers said it needed to be removed for “legal review”. It has still not recovered. This is extremely unfortunate as the report is based entirely on facts in the public domain and does not make any unsubstantiated or baseless assertions. This situation leaves journalists with a difficult choice. For now, I consider this a painful aberration and have decided to continue doing the journalism I have been doing at New Delhi Television. - In 2018, columnist Rajiv Mantri made controversial remarks about Jain’s father LC Jain. Jain sent a legal notice to Rajiv. Mantry tweeted about the announcement and said,
