The Balash Oath is a Little-Known Aspect Star Wars Canon, first mentioned in Charles Soule’s 2017 Darth Vader Cartoon, later shown in practice high republic Comics and novels. In short, it’s the Jedi’s oath that he wishes to distance himself entirely from the Order and the Council, but not from the Force itself. Obi-Wan Kenobi actually participated in the Oath of Barash while in exile on Tatooine, excluding his adventures with Princess Leia. Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

If someone were hunting the Jedi…an isolated Master would be vulnerable

according to acolyte In the trailer, someone is hunting down and killing Jedi, and Amandla Stenberg’s character May is likely the culprit. Currently, she’s only been shown wielding some kind of knife, which means there’s no way she’s trying to take on the Jedi on a large scale. Instead, she was forced to try and kill the Jedi one by one. In other words, May’s easiest targets are isolated Jedi, such as those who have taken the Oath of Barash. She’s not the type to try to fight multiple enemies on her own.

May, the former Padawan of Jedi Master Thrall, becomes embroiled in a sinister mystery that puts her at the center of the conflict in unexpected ways.

When Yoder (Charlie Barnett) acolyte In the trailer for Someone Is Killing Jedi, there’s a shot that shows May trying to stab a lone figure in white robes; possibly another Jedi she’s trying to kill. This, combined with her well-choreographed fight scene with Master Indara, all but confirms that May is looking for a lone Jedi to fight one-on-one. If Kaelnaka had taken the Oath of Barash and distanced herself from the Order, May’s path would likely have led her directly to him.

Is Kaelnaka a target of the Acolytes?

In the Star Wars: Acolyte trailer, Amandla Stenberg's May points a dagger in front of her face, with a mask covering the lower half of her face

Assuming May is the Acolyte mentioned in the title, and she’s hunting down rogue Jedi to help prove herself, then Kaelnaka is her main target. Jedi who took the Oath of Barash were separated from the Order, meaning Kaelnaka would have no backup if May tried to kill him. Still, May looks like an acrobatic warrior who likes to break through his opponents’ defenses with his knife. Therefore, Kaelnaka’s innate strength as a Wookiee poses a huge problem for May; he may end up needing no support at all to deal with her.

The first two episodes of “Acolyte” will premiere on Disney+ on June 4, 2024.

It seems unlikely that Disney will kill off Kyle Naka in the first few episodes of the series, suggesting that May won’t kill him off. If this is indeed the case, then Kelnaka may have been the first to alert the Jedi Order that a killer was on the loose. Kaelnaka may have been one of the few to escape May’s massacre, and her attempted attack may have prompted him to reconsider his oath and return to the Jedi Order. Either way, Kael’Naka is probably one of the most important characters in Star Wars. acolyte.
