After allegations of grooming his brother a few years ago, Stefflon Don is currently in the news for yet another incident. British rapper and singer of Jamaican descent, Stefflon Don, became famous for her music and romance with Burna Boy, a Nigerian celebrity. But a few years ago, her brother Dutchavelli, also a rapper, made the news for a different reason. He dismisses accusations that he groomed a 14-year-old girl on Instagram as “fake news” and disputes them. Here’s what we know now about Stefflon Don’s career and how the allegations have affected her.
Stefflon Don Brother Grooming Accusations
The allegations against Dutchavelli, whose real name is Stephan Allen, first surfaced online in November 2020 after the release of screenshots allegedly showing his conversations with a 14-year-old girl. He asked questions about her age, complimented her looks and invited her to stay in his hotel room. The girl said she informed him she was fourteen, but he continued to text her, even leaving her a voicemail. Dutchavelli claimed his Instagram account was hacked and denied the allegations. Additionally, he indicated that the girl lied about her age and that she is actually 17 years old. He said he only texted her because she was a fan of his music and that he had never met her.

According to him, the police had a “duty of care” to visit the girl’s house because her address was published on the Internet. He also rejected suggestions made online that he had paid off the girl’s family. Social media users reacted negatively to Dutchavelli in response to the allegations, labeling him a “predator” and a “pedophile”. Several of his fellow rappers, including Stormzy and Tion Wayne, have also cut ties with him and unfollowed him on Instagram. In addition, certain playlists on Spotify and YouTube no longer include Dutchavelli’s music.

Stephanie Allen, also known as Stefflon Don, has not responded to the allegations made against her brother in the media. However, she found herself the target of criticism both for her silence and for being by his side. In 2024, she caused another problem by releasing a song that, according to some, had harsh and insensitive lyrics. British rapper Don and Jamaican musician Jada Kingdom are at the center of a heated argument in the latest rap rivalry to rock the music industry. In her cover song “Dat A Dat”, Stefflon referenced a woman known only as “Twinki”, implying that Jada Kingdom was in a relationship with her former partner, Burna Boy.
