In Holker’s memoir, This far: my story of love, loss and acceptance of lightwhich was published on February 4, she described in detail some private entries of her husband and also revealed his history with sexual abuse as a child – another discovery that shocked his family.

In January, Holker opened his memoirs to people and revealed that the book would describe her upbringing in detail, a love story with Stephen and healing a two -year journey with his children after his death in suicide in December 2022.

Although she was initially felt by a secret, the choreographer said she had a new look and opened herself about how she found empathy and understanding.
“It was really difficult to put together all the pieces. Through certain discussions, even to the friends and things that were said, reading his magazines … you realize that he went through a lot as a child and never faced it,” she continued. “It’s hard to think that he never opened to someone and wanted to face it, to break through on the other side. After talking about the book, Holker faced Backlash online from Stephen’s fans and loved ones. Later she turned to criticism, writing on social networks: “I want to be clear that my only intention in writing a book is to share my story, as well as part of my life with Stephen to help other people. Said the dancer’s brother on CBS mornings that he saw “no responsibility” in a statement she published. “I don’t see any responsibility in the fact that the family had to find out about these things about the matter they did. Holker has since shared that he would donate all the proceeds from the book “For Financing the Foundation aimed at Mental Health I started in Stephen’s honor, moving with kindness.”
“I hope we don’t need to lose another husband, brother, father or friend of suicide,” she concluded. “I believe that if Stephen could choose, to decide to tell his story if it means to save even one life. Many love for everyone who supported our family this year.”
