Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss’s Wife Allison and His Children Remember ‘the Gift’ of His Life on His 41st Birthday

Stephen “tWitch” Boss would have turned 41 on Friday – although his loved ones are still processing his unexpected death less than a year ago.

His wife, Allison Holker Boss, posted a memorial tribute to her late husband’s legacy on Instagram this morning.

“We honor our beautiful, sweet, kind and beloved Stephen tWitch Laurel Boss. Forever in our hearts and minds he carries us, guides us and lifts us up,” the post began.

Alongside photos of her and Stephen’s three children visiting his grave, she continued: “We feel your presence every day and will forever be grateful for the good times we had together. We feel your arms around us and holding us through this day. Happy birthday love my @sir_twitch_many days we will always celebrate the gift you were and still are to this world. We love you!”

The dancer, DJ and producer met Allison, 35, in 2010 when they appeared as stars in Season 7 So you think you can dance. They eventually tied the knot in a ceremony in Paso Robles, California in 2013 and share a son, Maddox Maddox, as well as daughters Zaia and Weslie (Allison’s child from a previous relationship).

The day before Stephen’s birthday, Allison shared a carousel of family photos on Instagram.

“Life lately…”, she began the post. “I am so proud of my angels! Allowing love to stay in our hearts, guide us and guide us.”

She continued: “There are some really hard times we’ve had some really hard days but we lean on each other and lift each other up. We start every morning saying… we do hard things! Our most vulnerable moments are when we’re stronger together and forever! 🤍”

After his death by suicide last December, Allison said in a statement to PEOPLE that “Stephen lit up every room he walked into. He valued family, friends and community above all else, and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father and an inspiration to his fans.” She personally wrote to her husband: “Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you.”

Since Stephen’s death, Allison has honored her husband’s memory in several ways, announcing plans to publish a children’s book the pair wrote together – Keep Dancing Through: A Boss Family Groove — January 16, 2024 and posting a cute Father’s Day post with a family photo in June.

This May, she spoke for the first time about her husband’s death to PEOPLE.

Recalling the conversation at the dinner table, the dancer said her family “would have so many random conversations and there was so much laughter,” adding that their love was “so real and so loud.”

“Nobody had any idea he was short. He didn’t want people to know,” Allison said. “He just wanted to be everyone’s Superman and protector.”

The mother-of-three also revealed that she and the children still speak to Stephen, saying they believe he is now among the stars.

“He guides and protects,” she said. – We still feel his presence with us.
