The most recent court documents, obtained by Radar Online, indicate that the former Love & Hip Hop singer was ordered to return his ex-wife’s car after she claimed he took it so he could travel to Coachella.
Faith Evans, who bought a 2023 Mercedes Sprinter Van with her own money this year, made an urgent request to return it. She said the incident occurred on April 12 after Evans had gone to bed, at which point Stevie stole the keys and drove away.
Evans claimed that he followed Stevie and asked him to return his car, but he refused. He also claimed that he reported the stolen car to the police on April 12; the court accepted his appeal and ordered the immediate return of the car.
Additionally, Faith Evans asked the court to intervene and stop Stevie J from driving the truck and her other cars, such as a 2020 Mercedes G Wagon and a Chrysler Pacifica.
The application states that “the insurance policy does not cover [Stevie] and is not licensed to drive,” Evans adding that he paid $164,000 for the van. He added that Stevie’s driver’s license is still suspended, making it illegal to drive.
The love-hip-hop couple’s difficult divorce has just continued with an urgent petition. Stevie J had to hire a new lawyer, Evan Itzkowitz, when his previous divorce attorney fired him in 2022 due to an “irreparable flaw,” as reported in another Radar Online report this week.
In an Instagram post on Mother’s Day the previous year, Stevie had already opened up to Evans, expressing regret for his behavior and asking for forgiveness.
