Billy Joel and Sting perform two of their most classic songs together on their first tour together
Earlier this year, the former Police frontman, 72, teamed up with Billy Joel for a series of co-headlining shows. At their first show together in Tampa, Florida, the two rock legends surprised the crowd by joining each other in The Police’s “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” and Joel’s “Big Man on Mulberry Street.”
According to fan-recorded videos, Sting first played his main set, introduced by Joel, and then stayed on stage so they could play his opening song together.
“I saw this guy when he came to America with his band and I was blown away when I saw him – that was in the ’70s,” the “Piano Man” singer said introducing the rocker. “I thought he was great then and I think he’s great now. He is one of my favorite musicians of all time. Please say hi to Sting.”
The duo will play three more dates in San Diego, California on April 13, St. Louis, Missouri on September 27 and San Antonio, Texas on October 25.
