Tess Daly has hosted Strictly Come Dancing since it began in 2004, but in 2014 the presenter teamed up with her good friend, Claudia Winkleman, to host the show for the first time. Today, they are the dynamic duo we all know and love, and in 2019 Claudia even revealed that they had made a pact to only host the show together.

“Tess and I will leave at the same time,” Claudia said Is it just me? podcast. “We made this pact over pizza. We’ll go together whenever they’re done with us.”
Ahead of the first live show of Series 21, Tess, 54, took part in a new interview with the BBC, revealing some of her behind-the-scenes antics with co-star Claudia – and it sounds like they’re having the best time together.

It turns out that it’s not just the pros who get in on the action, and Tess explains that she and Claudia are always up for a dance. “The one song that always gets me on the dance floor at parties is Calvin Harris and Rihanna We Found Love,” the host explained.

Claudia (51) also spoke about the new series, and mentioned that she couldn’t be more excited to meet her good friend Tess again. “What I’m most looking forward to this series is that we’re all going to be together,” she said.
“I love standing next to Tess and I love trying on sparkly clothes. And most of all, I can’t wait to watch these people learn to dance.”
Tess also teased what’s to come this season. “This new team is so exciting,” she said. “They’re so full of fun and totally up for it, and they’re also totally adorable. I fell in love with them right from the start at the launch. I have high hopes for an enchanting series.”

Claudia and Tess, who will celebrate nine years as a television couple on Strictly, have spoken about their sweet friendship in numerous interviews. In 2022, the pair spoke to the Express, with Tess telling the publication: “Claudia is my friend, I’ve known her for years and years. We grew up together on TV, it feels like it.”

She added: “It always felt natural and right, and when you really get along with someone, it’s a pleasure to stand next to them on the floor because it doesn’t feel like work, but like an extension of your friendship.”
