STRICTLY star Les Dennis clashed with dance partner Nancy Xu backstage which led to their poor performance on the show, sources have told The Sun.
Funnyman Les, 69, became the first celebrity to be voted off the hit series on Sunday night when he and professional dancer Nancy failed to impress the judges in a dance-off.

Strictly head judge Shirley Ballas compared Lesa’s less-than-stellar dance to a “closet”.
And now show insiders have claimed the dancing duo struggled to “gel” backstage as Lesa’s energy levels didn’t match Nancy’s and the TV star was “going through the motions”.
An insider told The Sun: “Les the entertainer may have charmed audiences with his style, but behind the scenes it was a completely different story.
“Les was often moody and erratic because he found training to be a very exhausting process.
“He’s almost 70 so he was exhausted just two weeks later and that led to a conflict with Nancy.
“They never really fought, they always respected each other, but it seemed like Les was just going through the motions.
“His mood did not match Nancy’s enthusiasm and positivity which created tension and discord in the studio.
“Les would get frustrated at the slightest misstep and lose his cool, whereas Nancy was very patient and encouraging which only made Les angrier. They were just opposites.
“Nancy is a true artist, a dedicated perfectionist who genuinely cares about their performance.
“But Les’s temperament made it impossible for them to gel and it showed during the night.
“While Nancy was very disappointed she didn’t go through to next week, Les was glad it was over.”
A representative for Les did not respond to a request for comment. The BBC had no comment.
Before the show started, former Family Fortune presenter Les admitted she had no previous dance experience apart from some “comedy dancing” while treading the boards in the West End.
The weekend marked the second live show of the series and the first time a celebrity was evicted.
Les and Nancy were bottom of the charts after two performances, and as Nancy paid tribute to her dance partner on Sunday night, she mentioned the pair were facing “a lot of challenges”.
The dancer said: “It’s been a journey. This is such a short but sweet journey. Lots of challenges we all know, but to see you (Lesu) progressing every day. I respect you so much.”
In the dance part, Les and Nancy performed Samba to Rock The Boat Hues Corporation against Nikita and Gorka who danced the Charleston to Beyoncé’s Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).
