STRICTLY Come Dancing star Ellie Simmonds has told fans she has been rushed to hospital – and said she is finding it difficult to spend the time leading up to Christmas in hospital.
The British former Paralympic swimmer, 29, shared a photo from her hospital bed on Saturday morning.

Ellie posted a picture of herself on a drip while lying in bed.
She informed fans, writing: “I would have never thought I would have spent the days of December in hospital until Christmas.
Ellie did not go into detail about the reason for her hospital visit, but thanked NHS staff for their support.
She added: “A big thank you to all the nurses, doctors and staff at Walsall Manor NHS Hospital for looking after me.”
Ellie took part in Strictly last year.
Partnered with Nikita Kuzmin, Ellie shined in the spotlight and made it to week seven.
In October, The Sun revealed that Ellie had quietly split from her childhood sweetheart Matt Dean.
The couple was together for two years, and they met as kids.
He was in the front row supporting Ellie when she took to the BBC dance floor last year.
But The Sun has learned that the couple, who lived together in Cheshire, split amicably this summer.
A source said: “Ellie and Matt have unfortunately split up but it was amicable on both sides and there is a lot of love left.
“They preferred to keep their relationship out of the public eye, and it was the same with the breakup, but both are fine.”
Ellie has gone through a period of major life changes in the last 18 months.
After 13 years of competing at the Olympic level, the multi-gold medalist announced her retirement from swimming in September 2021.
But feisty Ellie was able to turn to TV and media work thanks to huge public support – which increased tenfold when she joined Strictly in September 2022.
Ellie was born with achondroplasia, a type of dwarfism that results in short limbs.
