Strictly’s Adam Thomas shares candid post on ‘tough day’ ahead of first live show

Adam Thomas is preparing to take to the dance floor for the first live show of Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday night, but he recently shared a candid post about the “difficult” day he and his partner faced during the week.

Actor who is known for his role as Donte Charles in the BBC drama Waterloo Roadannounced on his Instagram stories on Wednesday after he and his professional partner Luba Mushtuk had a full day of rehearsals and admitted it was full.

Earlier in the day, Adam was spotted heading to rehearsals wearing a wrist brace and previously spoke about how his arthritis could affect Strictly a journey. Interview with HELLO! and other reporters at a recent Q&A, the former Emmerdale star said: “I’m very worried, there’s no, there’s no doubt about it.

“I just [got to] give it a shot and I hope the pain isn’t too much. That will set me back a bit. There are things I can and can’t do, I just have to work at it. And I have a great dancer.”

In another video, however, Adam was in good spirits as he and Luba worked out for the weekend. Speaking directly to the camera, he said: “Another day in paradise and another studio today! This is an amazing studio, if I do say so myself.

He continued, “We have Ellie [Leach] and Vito [Coppola] training in the neighborhood. It’s been a good day so far, I actually danced my first dance today in front of a small audience which was quite nerve wracking.

“The first time it didn’t quite go as planned because, well, Luba wanted me to feel what it would be like on Saturday night when everyone is cheering, and that’s pretty gross!”

Adam added: “But once I got used to the cheering and hollering the second time around, I was quite happy with it and, more importantly, I think Luba was happy with it!”

The actor will no doubt have the support of his wife Caroline, who is a dance teacher herself, on Saturday night, although Adam admitted she didn’t share any advice with the star. “None,” he told reporters and added: “I wish there was, but no, not yet.”

He also told fans on social media: “I told my wife this the other day, the fact that my wife is a dance teacher and I’ve never learned to dance just confuses me, but then she told me that I didn’t even teach her how to behave.

“I haven’t had any dance experience so this is definitely my first time, but again, I’m excited to learn and get out there and do my thing.”
