As a corporate intern, Sudhansh joined a multinational company in Mumbai. Later, he quit his job and started preparing for the Union Public Service Commission exam. Sudhansh worked as a school teacher to support himself during his preparation.
In 1991, Sudhansh cleared his UPSC exam in the second attempt and thereby secured the 45th rank. He was awarded the Rajasthan Cadre. He started his service in 1992 at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie.
Sudhansh Pant started his career as a Collector and District Magistrate in Jaisalmer, Jhunjhunu, Bhilwara and Jaipur.
He was later appointed president and general manager of the State Electricity Transmission Corporation, the State Corporation for Renewable Energy Sources and the State Electricity Distribution Company.
Sudhansh also served in the Department of Mines and Petroleum as Secretary. He has served as Commissioner, Jaipur Development Authority and Secretary, Department of Urban Local Bodies and Housing.
In 2014, he was appointed joint secretary to the central government in the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
In 2018, he was transferred to the Department of Pharmaceuticals in Janaur as a joint secretary.
