She started her career as a theatre artist. She made her debut in the 1989 Hindi film Eeshwar, starring Anil Kapoor and Vijay Shanti. Her other Bollywood films include Jigar (1992), Parwane (1993), Putravati (1996), Sarfarosh (1999) and Rakhta Charitra (2010).

She made her Marathi film debut in 1994 with the film Varsa Laxmicha. She later acted in more Marathi films including Sarkarnama (1998), Aai Thor Tuze Upkar (1999), Ventilator (2016) and Bole India Jai Bhim (2017). Her first Hindi television serial was Lifeline (1991), in which she played a rape victim. She later acted in many popular Hindi television serials such as Byomkesh Bakshi (1993), Shanti- Ek Aurat Ki Kahani (1994) and Rang Badalti Odhani (2010).
