Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is an Indian lawyer and politician who won the Nadaun constituency seat for the Congress party in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections. He was elected as the 15th Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh in 2022 after the Congress won seats in 40 out of 68 states.

Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was born on Friday, March 27, 1964, in Nadaunsela village, Himachal Pradesh (age 59; as of 2023). His zodiac sign is Aries. Political career
Sukhvinder began his political career in college. He became an activist when he was a student in Himachal Pradesh University. Later, he joined the National Students Union of India, the student organization of the Congress party. He served as the state president of the Indian National UI from 1989 to 1995. In 1998, he became the state president of the National Youth Congress of India and served until 2008. He served as councilor of Shimla Municipal Corporation from 1992 to 1997. In 1997, he was re-elected as councilor of Shimla Municipal Corporation and served till 2002. He was elected to the state Legislative Assembly in 2003, 2007 and 2017. He served as the Congress Party whip from 2007 to 2012. In 2017, he was nominated to the party’s Public Affairs, Privileges and Business Advisory Committee. He served as the Chairman of Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee from 2013 to 2019. In 2019, he was dismissed as party chairman. In 2022, he contested the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections from Nadaun constituency and won the seat. On December 8, 2022, he was selected as the chief candidate of the Congress Party. He was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh on December 11, 2022 in the presence of Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi.
