Sum 41 Announces Final Tour Dates and Last-Ever Show Ahead of Their Separation as a Band

Sum 41 is officially saying goodbye.

After the pop-punk icons revealed via social media in May 2023 that they had gone their separate ways following the release of their upcoming album Heaven :x: Hellthe band has officially announced their final tour dates — including their final show.

The Canadian group consisting of Deryck Whibley, Dave Baksh, Jason McCaslin, Tom Thacker and Frank Zummo have announced that they will embark on the Tour of the Setting Sum for most of 2024, with their final show in Toronto on January 30, 2025, at Tuesday. Throughout the tour, he will say goodbye to fans around the world, while performing across Asia, North America and Europe.

Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley says he’s ‘not out of the woods yet’ after being hospitalized with pneumonia

After “In Too Deep” embarks on the Asian leg of their tour in March and plays a festival in Mexico at the end of the month, they will embark on the first leg of their US tour, which begins on April 19th with a concert in Omaha, Nebraska. During the first US leg, the group will hit major cities like Boston, New York, Atlanta, Nashville and Philadelphia, before finally ending in Norfolk, Virginia on May 19th.

The Grammy-nominated group will tour Europe for most of the summer before wrapping up their North American dates beginning August 1st. From then until early October, the hitmakers will play in cities such as San Francisco, Miami and Los Angeles, among others, concluding on October 5 in Los Angeles.

He will bring with him the ska band The Interrupters from LA as support.

Although Sum 41 was originally scheduled to play their final show on November 23rd in Nanterre, France, as the concert at Paris’ 35,000-capacity La Défense Arena sold out, they have since announced another show. On January 30, 2025, the punk rockers will take the stage together for the last time at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena.

To announce the Tour of the Setting Sum, the band “Fat Lip” shared a nostalgic teaser on Instagram with fun clips from their entire career, which spans almost three decades.

Fans can expect Sum 41 to play their classic pop-punk tunes, as well as new music, on their latest tour, which comes on the heels of the release of their latest album. Heaven :x: Helltheir eighth studio album and final album together, is due out March 29 (via Rise Records).

“Being in Sum 41 since 1996 has brought us some of the best moments of our lives. We are forever grateful to our fans, old and new, who have supported us in any way possible,” the band wrote in a statement after announcing their split. “It’s hard to articulate the love and respect we have for all of you and we wanted you to hear this from us first.”

“Sum 41 will disband,” the message read, and the group teased their final album and tour dates for 2023.

“For now, we look forward to seeing all you skumf—ers out on the road and are excited for what the future holds for each of us,” the band added. “Thank you for the last 27 years of Suma 41.”

This year, All Killer No Filler the musicians prepared for the split and began to say goodbye to fans by going on the road with The Offspring and Simple Plan.

Their frontman, 43, also experienced health complications in the fall of 2023 when he was hospitalized with pneumonia in September. Whibley’s wife, model Ariana Cooper Whibley, revealed the news on social media at the time, then confirmed days later that the singer — who previously suffered kidney and liver failure in 2014 due to alcohol poisoning — had been discharged after “responding well to treatments”.

Tickets for the US dates of the Setting Sum Tour go on sale this week. They kick off with a series of presales, including artist and Citi presales, available now, BandsInTown, Spotify, Live Nation and Ticketmaster presales on Thursday at 10am ET and venue presales on Thursday at 10am local time. All remaining tickets will go on sale Friday at 10am local time at www.sum41.com/tour.
