According to PEOPLE, the proposal took place at Dune Beach in Southampton and was filmed for the upcoming season of The Summer Vacation. Carl convinced Lindsay that they were going to a bonfire as an excuse to propose. Lindsay, who has been dating since early 2022, was treated to an intimate picnic when they arrived at the venue. The picnic came after a long and beautiful proposal. Carl claimed he hid the ring in a beach bag he had with him and asked Lindsay to marry him, saying: “Our love story has only just begun.” Lindsay replied, “A thousand times, yes!” at his request.

Lindsay and Carl were among the original cast members of the Bravo show when it debuted in the summer of 2017. They tried to develop their friendship into romance during their fourth trip to the Hamptons in 2019. However, tensions between the two arose when Carl admitted that he didn’t want to be in in a relationship with the Letnikovac actress. Later, when Lindsay was present, he asked the fitness teacher outside.
Lindsay took to Instagram to talk about the situation, and Carl admitted that alcohol may have played a role in his choice. While promoting Season 4 of Summer House, he told Entertainment Tonight:
“Lindsay is a lovely young lady.” You drink and have a good time and I’m single… They believe you should date your best friend. This usually works out well. There were several mornings when I woke up not knowing what had happened the night before.”
Later, the Summer House spouses maintained a relationship and supported each other in difficult times. Lindsay was there to comfort Carl when his brother died in the show’s fifth season. In October 2021, Carl officially announced that he had completed 10 months of sobriety. Soon after, their romance resurfaced in the news when they posted photos of themselves together on social media. For Halloween, the two even dressed up as a couple. Finally, Carl announced to US Weekly in January 2022 that the couple was dating.

He stated:
“I am happy to report that we are dating and things are going well. We are overjoyed. She was very supportive and a part of my life for many years. … I mean, we make each other laugh uncontrollably. I’ve never felt more like myself than when I’m with her. That’s strong for me.”
The Summer Vacation actor also said that things turned romantic between the two before the end of season 6 filming in September 2021. Carl, on the other hand, said that he was terrified at first because Lindsay was his closest friend and noted:
“There have just been more sensations.” We spend a lot of time together. I can’t tell you how many of our friends have said to us, ‘Oh, what about, you know…’ Like, you keep thinking about me and Lindsay. And I got a rush out of it for some reason. I was terrified because dating your best friend is scary.”
Since then, they have been hanging out together, going on trips, spending time with their families and attending award shows and red carpets together. The couple revealed to US Weekly in May 2022 that they were preparing to move in together.
Carl claimed that they are “extremely serious, in love and very happy” and that they are moving to a “brand new place”. The 37-year-old explained:
“We are really pleased to start our new chapter together.” Living together is a big step, but we’ve been doing it for more than a year, simply changing here and there with each other.”
Other members of Letnikovac were also there to mark the event. Kyle Cooke, Danielle Olivera, Paige DeSorbo, Mya Allen and Andrea Denver were among them. Carl proposed with a “glittering Nicole Rose ring featuring a 3.5-carat square brilliant-cut cushion with two crescent-shaped diamonds on the side,” according to PEOPLE. The couple then celebrated with friends and family at Dockers Waterside Marina & Restaurant. Hubbard’s father and stepmother came from Florida to join the newlyweds on their big day.
