Sumrit Shahi is an Indian novelist and screenwriter. He is best known for writing romantic novels.

Sumrit Shahi was born on Friday, February 12, 1993, in Chandigarh, India (30 years old as of 2023). His zodiac sign is Aquarius. He completed his tenth grade at St. John’s High School, Chandigarh and then went to SelaQui International School, Dehradun, but was soon expelled and returned to Chandigarh and completed his education at Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula . Later, he graduated in Arts from Symbiosis International University, Pune, where he also majored in Media Studies, Film Appreciation and Business Management.

In 2010, 17-year-old Samrit wrote his first novel, Just Friends. His debut novel sold more than 100,000 copies in its first few months. His second novel, A Lot Like Love… A Li ‘l Like Chocolate, was published in October 2011. His second book, known for its dark humor, was followed by his second in May 2015. Three novels, Never Kiss Your Bestfriend, are owned by Rupa Press. His novels have also been translated into Hindi and published.

Sumrit has written stories for more than 1,300 episodes of 10 TV shows, including Ek Veer Ki Ardaas…Veera (2012 – 2015), Sadda Haq – My Life, My Choice (2013 – 2016), co-written with Durjoy Dutta, Sadda Haq Million Dollar Girl – From Banaras to Paris (2014 – 2015) and Boyz (2015).
