Lex used the upgraded Steel Suit to fight Superman and even managed to use Kryptonian screws made by Milton that became painfully embedded in Clark’s flesh. However, out of a desire to end things once and for all, Superman was able to crush a Kryptonian screw with his bare hands and then fight Lex with all his strength, using all of his energy reserves to ultimately defeat him.
Lex was arrested, and Clark and Lois later learned that his appeal was denied, meaning he was imprisoned for life in Stryker Prison. Crucially, Lex is no longer living the lavish life in prison as he was after breaking out on a whim, but is instead being thrown into a regular cell – it’s revealed that this is because Bruno Mannheim was in There, and dedicated to making sure Luther doesn’t get a life of luxury.
