FATBOY SLIM says he has fallen out of love with creating new music and expects to end his career playing live.
DJ, real name Norman Cook, released his last studio album Palookaville 20 years ago.

He told me during a fan Q&A at his All Back To Minehead Butlin’s weekend in Somerset: “My last two singles have just come out live.
“They were both things I did just to play on the sidelines.
“I had tunes that no one else had in my set. And it became popular with people when we figured out that we could clean the samples and give them away.”
Norman added: “The thing is, you can’t make music unless you’re absolutely passionate about it and driven by it from the moment you wake up in the morning.
“I don’t seem to feel that way anymore. That’s how I feel about DJing and performing this kind of stuff, but I’ve kind of lost my passion for making music.
“For five years I tried to stress about it and say ‘You should do it.’
“But then I thought, ‘Well, everyone likes my DJing and I enjoy it more, so I’ll do it’.
“I hope one day the passion will return.”
As a huge fan of Norm — and his hits like Right Here, Right Now, Gangster Trippin and Slash Dot Dash — I hope so, too.
He played a killer set over the weekend and his son Woody also hit the decks.
Fatboy Slim at Glastonbury
Like his famous father, he’s building a career as a DJ and we’ve seen him play Glastonbury twice in the last two years.
But according to Norm, his boy kept his passion for decks a secret for fear of being labeled an unwanted baby.
Of Woody, his son with Zoe Ball, Norm said: “As long as Woody lived with me, he was always into music — and then he started clubbing quite seriously.
“I used to say to him ‘Do you want to be a DJ?’ He says, ‘Well, I’ve been thinking about it. The thing is, I would always live in your shadow. I would always be your son’.
“He went to university in Bristol, called me two weeks later and said, ‘Dad, I’ve started DJing’.
“All those years I could mention him. But he couldn’t do that while he lived with me. He wanted to do it himself.
“I think we’re both very afraid of nepotism.”
During the session, Norman also spoke about going to school with Keir Starmer and said he never imagined he would end up as Prime Minister.
“He was actually in my class for five years,” Norm said.
“The weird thing was that there was another person in our class who was really gifted and they were like the school guy.
“And when they were asked what they wanted to do when they grew up, they said, ‘I want to be the Prime Minister of England.’
“Keir was very quiet.
“It is very bizarre to see his rise. I remember him playing the guitar. He was in the band at school.
“But he didn’t give off any whiff of ‘one day I’ll be prime minister’.”
Sing, Cyn
CYNTHIA ERIVO has penned a song for the upcoming second Wicked film, to bolster the hit soundtrack.
The British actress, right, plays green witch Elphaba in the film, which will be released next November, following the first installment last month.

She told the Awards Circuit podcast: “I don’t know if you’re ready for it.
“I love the song and I remember the cast and crew crying when we were shooting it.
“I feel the song is very, very special.
“I have a feeling that even the title will touch you.”
Tissues ready.
Kate cat strain
I’m not the only one with cabin fever after spending the last week stuck inside eating junk.
Judging by the pictures and videos that Kate Beckinsale posts on Instagram, she’s about to fail too.

She posed on the floor of her home before getting up on all fours to interact with her cat – next to a giant painting of the cat.
Kate also posted a video of herself jumping on a trampoline, wearing shoes with the biggest platform I’ve ever seen.
My ankles hurt just watching.
I hope for her sake that 911 wasn’t called soon after.

Biggins: Dame is done for a year
PANTO ladies veteran Christopher Biggins plans to hang up his heels next year.
He became a familiar face in theaters across the country, having appeared in pantomime for 50 years.

But asked if he would ever take time off, Biggins told The Sun: “I think it might be next year,” adding: “I’m getting old now.”
He said, however, that panto bosses have made his job a lot easier. “The producers are very kind to me. I fly in and out of this pantomime, which is nice,” he added.
The actor, 76, appears alongside Steps singer Faye Tozer and children’s doll Sooty in Sleeping Beauty.
He stars in The Spirit of Dreams in a production which runs in Woking, Surrey, until January 5.
Biggins, who won I’m A Celebrity in 2007, said in 2016 that he planned to retire from the panto after next year, admitting that his previous show “almost killed me”.
He then said: “We will have to wait and see. But as you get older, there are more priorities in your life – like enjoying it. Going to the theater at noon and not getting out until 10 p.m., then going straight to bed isn’t much of a life for six weeks.”
None of us are younger, so I can’t blame him for walking away from the stage.
Jess and Alex are having wild fun
JESS GLYNNE and Alex Scott swapped a family Christmas in foggy Blighty for the trip of a lifetime in Costa Rica.
I found out they stayed at a five star resort for their romantic getaway after a nearly 11 hour flight last week.

In addition to riding jet skis and hiking waterfalls in the national park, the couple spent Saturday meeting sloths in the wild.
Meanwhile, amid reports of her marriage to Stranger Things’ David Harbor breaking up and signing up to dating app Ray, Lily Allen has also jetted off.
She spent last week in Kenya with her two daughters and a few friends, enjoying a safari to take her mind off everything.
Si is dying to tell the story of his life
SIMON COWELL says he has no plans to turn his incredible career into a film just yet – because he has upset too many people.
The former X Factor host has rubbed shoulders with a host of stars over the years, including Mel B, Sharon Osbourne and Jennifer Hudson.

“I always say the best film you can make is the week before you die,” Simon told me during an exclusive conversation in the United States.
“Then you could do anything; just tell all the stories about all the people you hate and everything else, who cares?
“The only way I’m going to make a movie is if I’m terminally ill.”
The new TV show, due next year, sees Simon in search of the country’s next big boy band.
And given that he is no stranger to talent franchises such as Pop Idol, The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, he is confident that it will be a success.
Simon said: “Basically it’s about casting. Every big season really depends on who shows up.
“If you have average people with boring personalities, it doesn’t matter what gimmicks I throw at the show, it’s not going to work.
“If someone is naturally good, has charisma and people cheer for him, then you have half a chance.
“That’s why I say to everyone, look, just focus on the casting.
“You have chosen the actors well, we have a chance.”
God, Alex is in trouble
ALTHOUGH most celebrities are downright angelic during the holiday season, some are ditching very human dudes just like the rest of us.
Blur’s Alex James revealed that after being a little too smiley at a church Christmas party last year, he was kicked out of the building for using an “antique naked baby Jesus figurine” as an ashtray.

To make matters worse, Alex’s memory went blank and it wasn’t until he met up with his friends the next day that he remembered his antics.
In his new book, Over The Rainbow: Tales from an Unexpected Year, he recalled: “I was smoking in a room with art and objects, as usual.
“Someone I didn’t know said, ‘I’m not sure if you’re allowed to smoke here’.
“I obediently took the small ashtray from the dresser I was leaning on and put out the cigarette.
“Unfortunately, unlike some cabins, this one wasn’t actually an ashtray.
“I happened to come across an antique figurine of a naked baby Jesus and I knocked my fag out by rubbing it around his crotch, completely unknowingly.
“When the person who asked me to quit smoking warned me about what I had done, I tried to put a positive spin on it.
“I picked up baby Jesus to show his robustness by pulling one of his handles.
“The hand fell off along with a wisp of incredibly fine, glittering, powdery dust.
“I was able to plug it again.”
I’m sure Alex would make a great contribution to the plate collection.
