Survivor Season 46 Breaks the Record — Again — for Most Players Voted Out with Idols In a Single Season

This post contains spoilers from the May 15 episode of Survivor.

IN Survived In episode 46 “My Messy, Sweet Little Friend” last week, Venus became the fourth player of the season to be eliminated with a hidden immunity idol, helping season 46 break the all-season record for most players sent home with an unused idol.

Episode 12, titled “Mamma Bear,” featured Q finding the idol but not using it at tribal council, making him the fifth player — the fourth in a row — to do so this season and extending the all-time series record to five players .

Aside from the Q elimination, the penultimate episode focused on Maria and Charlie, who are the season’s most successful and successful duo, secretly attacking each other as the next blind side.

Q competes in a challenge during episode 12.

Charlie won the prize challenge at the beginning of the episode, earning a Chinese feast and letters from a loved one back home. Host Jeff Probst then told him he could pick two of the remaining five players to join him.

Stressed by the weight of the decision, he chose not to choose his closest ally, choosing to bring Liz and Kenzie along for very different reasons.

Charlie chose Liz because she hadn’t eaten or pooped in over 20 days since she was shipwrecked in Fiji. “There are people in this game who aren’t rooting for you, but there are people at home who are,” Liz said in the confessional after reading her daughter’s letter.

Meanwhile, Charlie received a letter from his girlfriend, who reminded him that she, his mom, and dad wanted him to be the winner in the end.

“Everyone told me to play to win. If I’m going to play to win, that means I’ll have to betray Maria,” Charlie admitted in the confessional.

At the awards banquet, Charlie, Liz and Kenzie agree that they want to kick Maria out because she is “unstoppable”. And she was unstoppable.

Later, Maria won the challenge, claiming her third individual victory of the season and guaranteeing a place in the final. “It went from a contest to a bust,” Probst said after Maria’s win.

With their plan thwarted, the feasting trio set out to destroy Maria’s ally, Q. Meanwhile, Maria tried to rally the troops against Charlie.

While casting her vote for Charlie at tribal council, Maria secretly told the camera that she “can’t wait for the boys to meet Uncle Charlie.”

However, Charlie, Liz, Kenzie and Ben surprised Maria by voting for Q, who did not use his immunity idol and became the fifth player this season to be eliminated with an idol.

Next week in the final episode, Maria will have to explain to Charlie why she voted for him, and the other players will have to explain why they didn’t vote for Charlie as they agreed.
