Parvati Shallow advanced Survivedcompeting four times and winning Survivor Micronesia — Fans vs. Favorites — but that doesn’t mean she ever got used to life without creature comforts.
Luckily, the reality star got them to compete on Traitors season 2. Shallow, 41, tells PEOPLE that filming Traitors in a castle in the Scottish Highlands felt like a treat compared to looking for her own food and shelter on Survived.
“I couldn’t be more excited to wear clothes, different colors for different days,” says Shallow in a joint interview with Big Brotheris Janelle Pierzina. “More than just one old pair of underwear in 39 days. I’m so freaked out.”

Shallow jokingly calls the recording Traitors live a “luxury life”.
“There are hot showers. There’s a bed over there. They feed us,” she continues. “They say, ‘Would you like some sparkling water?’ I ask myself: ‘What? I’m used to eating on the ground with my hands.’ This is so beautiful.”
Pierzina, 43, liked having her own room. “I said, ‘I’m just glad to have a private place to sleep,'” he said Big Brother season 12 winner says. “Privacy. I’m like, you think I don’t have to walk home? I’m not being filmed 24 hours a day? I have privacy? Like, oh my God.”
Shallow was also excited about the meeting Traitors castmate Peppermint from RuPaul’s Drag Race.
“I love it Drag Race, so I was really excited to see Peppermint,” she says. “I said, ‘I hope they put someone from Drag Race in the show.’ I was just grilling her like, ‘How do you do this?’ How do you know how to sew your own clothes? How do you perform? Can I do it?’ ”

Meanwhile, Pierzina was stunned when they met her Traitors hosted by Alan Cumming. “Romy and Michele’s high school reunion is one of my favorite movies,” she says. “I’m a total ’90s girl, so that epic dance they do is still fresh in my mind. I’m a big fan of Alan’s.”
Pierzina doesn’t think that her and Shallow’s competitive experience is necessarily conducive to success at Traitors.
“There are people here who are just playing the game. They don’t care about the money,” Pierzina says of the $250,000 top prize. “It’s the players. Just because we come from Big Brother, Survived does not mean that we have a leg up. There are people here who just came to play, period.”

The shallow was actually considered a bit rusty Traitors.
“You really have to navigate all the different relationships in the castle,” she says. “And I really don’t know if anyone has a leg up. Certainly, there is a perception of all of us that everyone has formed, based on what people have seen on television about who we are. But for me, it’s been 15 years since I won Survived, and a lot has changed for me since then. So I’d really like to shake it off.”

Mother of daughter Alma (4) found. Traitors to be “very different” from her past reality TV experience.
“IN Survived, it’s like making alliances and then protecting yourself with your alliances,” Shallow explains. “It’s like you can’t form alliances here because you don’t know who the traitors are.”
Although Shallow and Pierzina had alumni from their respective shows – Sandra Diaz-Twine and Dan Gheesling – join them on Traitorsthey did not necessarily consider them automatic allies.
“Sandra and I didn’t get along at all,” says Shallow.

Pierzina didn’t want to take her anger out on Gheesling, 40, to Traitors.
“Dan is the reason I’ve never been on that show again,” she says of Gheesling, who is partly responsible for it Big Brother 14 elimination. “I’m not going to bring that into this.”
Ultimately, Pierzina, like Shallow, accepted the challenge of navigating a new kind of reality show. “I think it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to do something that’s completely different than I’ve ever done,” says the realtor. “I think it’s a crazy cool privilege to hang out with people and figure out how we’re going to communicate with each other. It’s just freaking awesome.”
