Surya Keerthi is an Indian wildlife activist, animal rescuer and conservation spokesperson based in Mysuru, Karnataka. Surya came to attention after his video went viral in which he was seen trying to save a pregnant cobra that was fighting for its life after being run over by a car. He is the son of snake lover Snake Shyam, who participated in the 10th season of the reality TV show Bigg Boss Kannada.

According to some sources, he was a graduate. Surya grew up watching his father rescue snakes and developed a curiosity about snakes from an early age. As a child, he often visited rescue sites with his father to observe snake rescue efforts. Slowly, he learned the art of identifying venomous and non-venomous snakes just by looking at them. In an interview, he shared his childhood memories:
I remember I was three years old when we were filming a documentary about my dad. I cried because I wanted to catch a snake. At this moment, Dad reached into the bag, took out a slender little snake, and handed it to me. I once brought trinket snakes into my room and tried to observe their behavior. As I grew older, I accompanied my father on some rescues, and I also rescued some non-venomous snakes, and then slowly advanced to rescuing venomous snakes. “

Profession
Surya Keerthi started her career as a wildlife conservationist and animal rescuer at a young age. He rescued and preserved thousands of snakes in the Mysore region.
Surya also protected the eggs of the rescued snakes and incubated them artificially until the eggs hatched. He will then release the baby snake to a safer location at the appropriate stage. Apart from snakes, Surya also rescued other animals such as owls, squirrels and puppies.
He also owns a small animal shelter in Mysuru, where animals maimed by accidents are rehabilitated. He organizes various awareness campaigns about snakes across the country. On January 18, 2014, he created a YouTube channel of the same name, where he uploaded his animal rescue videos. As of 2023, the channel has more than 135,000 subscribers.
