dispute

There is a lot of controversy surrounding his name. Some of his most high-profile controversies are—

Setting Daoud’s car on fire

On December 9, 2015, Swami Chakrapani purchased a Hyundai Accent car for Rs. The auction price is 32,000. The car previously belonged to gangster Don Dawood Ibrahim. Initially, he wanted to convert the car into an ambulance, but it was in poor condition. He even received threatening calls from Dawood Ibrahim’s D Company, after which Swami decided to make toilets using car parts. After receiving constant threatening calls from Company D, Swamy requested security from the Indian government. On December 24, 2015, Swamy along with some others burned the car in public in Ghaziabad.

A word about flood victims in Kerala

During the 2018 Kerala floods, Swamy opposed helping those who ate beef. Swamy said in an interview with reporters,

I also appeal to Kerala for help. But help should be provided to those who respect nature and living things. When people in Kerala had access to roti, they would slaughter a cow to eat its meat. So, what I am saying is that Hindus should help those who avoid eating beef and those who try to harm Hinduism by deliberately eating cows and slaughtering them on the road should not be forgiven. Beef eaters don’t deserve any help. If they must be helped, they should be asked to sign a pledge not to eat beef in the future. “

His comments were not welcomed by certain segments of society. Later, the official website of the Hindu Mahasabha was hacked and a recipe for spicy beef curry was uploaded.

Classified as fake Baba

In 2018, the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad released a list of fake babas and Chakrapani’s name was included in it. Subsequently, Swamy sent a defamation notice worth Rs. 11 crore against three officials of the Akhara Parishad, including Mahant Narendra Giri, president of the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad.

Gaumuthra Party

In the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic in India, Swami made statements in the media saying that the virus was the embodiment of punishment for non-vegetarians. He then suggested that the solution to the problem was to drink cow urine. He even held a Gaumutla party which was attended by many people. While some laughed at his suggestion, others criticized him for making such a lame statement.
