She received the Courage Award from Reporters Without Borders in 2018. While presenting the award to Swati, Reporters Without Borders said,

Speaking to the media after receiving the courage award, Swati said,

  • Swati Chaturvedi has written mostly against Modi and his government throughout her career. She is reportedly a supporter of AAP. In 2018, when Rahul Gandhi met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss loan waivers for Indian farmers, Swati accused Rahul Gandhi of being a secret affiliate of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Earlier, when Rahul Gandhi opposed the demonization policies of the Modi government in 2016, Swati was a staunch supporter of him.
