“I’m scrolling through Twitter and I see I’m tagged in a post,” she recalled of seeing news of her father’s remarks during a 2020 episode of her family show. “The only word I saw was ‘gynecologist’ and I didn’t even need to read the whole headline ’cause I just knew. TI reflected on the massive backlash he received during his appearance on Talk about the red tablesaying he was “incredibly apologetic” to Deyjah following the controversy.

“From a place of truth, I started embellishing and exaggerating and I think a lot of people took that very literally,” he explained, adding that while he didn’t understand the sensitivity of what he was talking about at the time, he “absolutely” does now.

In 2021, the rapper shared a tribute to his eldest daughter for her 21st birthday. Along with a photo and video montage of Dejyah, TI wrote: “I love you endlessly. Even through turbulent times I still think of you. I am always proud and incredibly impressed by your revolutionary perspective.”
