TN mid-year exams postponed
TN mid-term exams postponed: Tamil Nadu has postponed the 2024 mid-term exam for Chennai, Chengalpattu, Thiruvallur and Kancheepuram districts due to Cyclone Michaung. However, according to reports, the mid-term exams scheduled to begin today, December 7, 2023, will be conducted as scheduled in other districts.
Reports suggest that schools in the above-mentioned districts where the mid-term examinations have been postponed may conduct examinations according to the situation and provide separate question papers to students appearing for the examination.
According to the revised dates, the TN Class 12 mid-term language exams will be held on December 14, 2023 and the English exam scheduled for December 8, 2023 will be held on December 20, 2023.
According to reports, the mid-term exams for students from classes 6 to 11 have not been postponed as per the reports. It is expected that the Ministry of Education will announce the mid-year exams after reviewing the situation in the country.
Tamil Nadu has been hit by Cyclone Michaung for the past few days with floods and inundations. Districts like Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpet and Kancheepuram were worst hit by the cyclone. Schools in these districts have been closed for the past few days due to heavy rain and floods caused by the cyclone.
Considering the damage, the TN Chief Minister sought a relief of Rs. 5060 Crore from the Centre, according to reports. The Chief Minister in his recent announcement mentioned that the flood waters in the suburbs of Chennai are still inundated and the authorities are working to provide necessities like food to everyone.
