Tashaun James Gipson Sr. is an American football safety who plays for the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL. He played college football at Wyoming before signing with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent in 2012.

Tashaun Gipson was born in San Bernardino, California and grew up in Dallas, Texas. He was a three-sport athlete at Kimball High School in Dallas, where he played football, basketball and ran track. He had a standout career, particularly his senior year at the Stadium, when he was named the 4A District 14 Dallas City League Most Valuable Player and earned first-team All-District honors at cornerback and punt returner. Gipson has 35 tackles on defense, nine pass breakups and two fumble recoveries. While serving as an offensive team captain, he amassed more than 1,400 all-purpose yards and 14 touchdowns. Gipson spent his career as a running back, wide receiver, free safety and punt and kick return specialist. He was recruited by Baylor, Louisville, Fresno State and Idaho.
