Taylor Frankie Paul is grateful to have a solid support system.
As one of the PEOPLE creators of the year 2024, The Secret Lives of Mormon Women star, 30, says one particular person helped her turn her life around in 2024: her therapist.
“It was sent to me very specifically,” Paul tells PEOPLE. “I remember praying for help because I’ve been really struggling this year, with the stress earlier this year with the pregnancy and then on the show and after finding out the hard stuff. I feel like I’ve been through a lot. ”
“And I was begging. I was like, ‘Just help me through this time because I’ve just been through hell for what seems like the last two years,'” she recalls.

Paul credits her therapist with helping her get in the right mindset to take on the challenges she faces as a mother, social media star and rising public figure as a result of the show’s success.
“The effort she put in to help me – late at night and making sure I was okay as a person – she really cared and went through a lot of the same things, if not more difficult things. That was very interesting to me. I felt it’s like I prayed for help and it was given to me in a way I never would have expected.”
“It’s interesting to say that the therapist is the one who left his mark on me, but I know, I didn’t have to ask, who was sent specifically to help me through this time.”

The Hulu reality series was one of the most buzzed-about shows of 2024, earning the cast a spot on PEOPLE’s first Creators of the Year list. Paul and co-star Whitney Leavitt spoke to PEOPLE about their shock at the show’s astronomical ratings and endless buzz.
“I had no idea it was going to be number one on Hulu, and so quickly. The amount of people who watched it and saw it. Not only that, I thought it was more of a ‘Get your girls together’ look, but there are a lot of men who they enjoy the show,” says Paul.
“I don’t think any of us thought it would be as big as it is and will continue to be,” Leavitt agrees. “It was something we all wanted to do and we’re very grateful for how big it actually got and how big I know it’s going to get even bigger from here. That was my biggest surprise, a thousand percent.”
