Swift’s announcement came two weeks after the concerts were canceled and the Grammy winner came under fire for not directly addressing the cancellation. But in her post, she explained why she remained silent.
“To be very clear: I will not talk about something publicly if I think that I could provoke those who would like to harm the fans who come to my shows,” she wrote. “In cases like this, ‘silence’ is really about holding back and waiting to speak up when it’s right. My priority was to finish our European tour safely, and I can say with great relief that we did it.”
