Taylor Swift postponed Saturday’s concert in Brazil.
On Saturday, the pop superstar shared an Instagram Story, informing her followers that she was the second of three Eras Tour concerts at the Estadio Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will not take place as planned.
The decision, which Swift wrote was a result of the “extreme temperatures in Rio,” comes a day after an attendee died ahead of Swift’s concert on Friday.
“I’m writing this from my locker room at the stadium,” Swift shared on her Instagram Story in a handwritten message on Saturday. “The decision was made to postpone tonight’s performance due to the extreme temperatures in Rio.”
“The safety and well-being of my fans, fellow performers and crew must and will always come first.”
While Swift’s announcement did not specify a new date for her Saturday performance, event promoter Time for Fun revealed in a later statement that the performance has been moved to Monday, and all tickets for Saturday’s performance remain valid for the new date.

The delay follows Swift’s previous Instagram story, where she revealed she was “heartbroken” by the death of a fan on Friday.
Party time divided into ua publish on X, formerly Twitter, that 23-year-old Ana Clara Benevides Machado died after being taken ill at the scene. According to the post, which was shared in Portuguese, Benevides Machado was treated by first responders and she died after being taken to the local Salagdo Filho hospital.
“I can’t believe I’m writing these words, but I’m heartbroken to say we lost a fan tonight before my show,” Swift wrote on Friday.
“I can’t even tell you how devastated I was,” she added. “I have very little information other than the fact that she was so incredibly beautiful and too young.”
Swift, who wrote that she felt the loss “deeply”, revealed that she is “overwhelmed with grief when I even try to talk about it”.
“Now I want to say that I feel this loss deeply and my heart goes out to her family and friends,” she wrote. “This is the last thing I thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil.”
As previously reported, a friend of Benevides’ named Thiago Fernandes shared a tribute to her on Instagram on Friday. The post, written in Portuguese, read in part: “I just can’t believe yours [sic] gone I can’t accept it. We’ve talked so many times about this show and how I wish I was with you.”
Fan video from Friday’s show, shared on X, shows Swift pausing the concert to ask for water to be brought to attendees, along with another video published from a fan showing the pop star showing those in need water.
Before the postponement of Saturday’s show, Time for Fun announced that water pumps would be installed in the stadium, writes The Independent.
