Taylor Swift Said She Wanted a Boyfriend Whose 'Comfort Level with Fame' Matched Hers in Resurfaced 2011 Interview

Taylor Swift proved to be a celebrity-loving partner long before she and Travis Kelce met.

In a recent re-interview from 2011 60 minutes shared in the last episode of the program Another view podcast, Swift, then 21, was candid about her desire for a potential partner to be able to handle fame on the same level as her.

“It’s so heartbreaking when things click, but your comfort level with fame is so different from that [the person you’re dating]”, she told the newspaper at the time. “Because I don’t care… I don’t care who’s watching, but some people do.”

Swift, who is now 34 years old, further pointed out that “you can’t have a good relationship with someone who cares so much. It seems a bit unnecessary to worry so much about keeping people out.”

Fortunately for the singer’s wishes, a little over a decade later she would find a boyfriend who was seemingly full of the attention their high-profile relationship attracted. In the time since she and Kelce, 34, went public with their romance, the pair have been seen everywhere from the US Open to the 2024 Super Bowl and romantic nights out in New York.

The NFL star even appeared alongside Swift at her London Eras Tour show, carrying her across the stage while wearing a black tuxedo.

Kelce said during a September appearance on the CBS Morning that it’s living under Swift’s lights”the life I chose, I guess,” adding, “I’m having fun with it. It comes with the territory of wanting fun activities like this.”

“Everybody loves it. Mom Kelce is having a lot of fun,” the Kansas City tight end explained of his family’s reaction to the big rise to fame he encountered in the same interview. “I think my dad is slowly getting more and more into it, and Jason has always been a pro at it,” he added of his brother, retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, 36.

In that same interview, Kelce opened up about why he thinks “people are rooting for him” as his profile has risen thanks to his relationship with Swift.

“I hope it’s because they see that I’m just a genuinely good person and I love what I do and I love doing it with the people I do it with,” he added at the time. “I’d rather give everyone happiness and something to cheer about than usual.”
