Taylor Swift Says She’s ‘Completely Starstruck’ as She Performs Biggest Eras Tour Show Yet in Melbourne

Taylor Swift has just reached another milestone in her career.

On Friday, the singer (34) played in front of the biggest Eras Tour crowd of the entire tour so far, as she took the stage at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia.

96,000 fans attended the sold-out concert, marking more people than any other concert to date, and she has had several major concerts to date, including a performance in front of a crowd of 74,000 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey in May.

“This is the biggest concert we’ve done on this tour or any tour I’ve ever done,” Swift told the crowd in the clip divided by X (formerly known as Twitter).

“That’s the version you have of me tonight, the version that’s totally in awe of the fact that so many of you wanted to hang out with us on Friday night in Melbourne,” added the “Love Story” hitmaker.

Friday’s performance marked Swift’s first Australian tour since 2018, when she took the stage for her Reputation shows. She is also due to perform at the MCG on February 17 and 18, before heading to Sydney for next weekend’s shows at the city’s Accor Stadium.

Swift’s performance in Melbourne comes after she jetted off from her Eras Tour show in Tokyo on Saturday to watch boyfriend Travis Kelce help his Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in Sunday’s Super Bowl in Las Vegas.

Travis and Jason Kelce praise Taylor Swift for drinking at Super Bowl: ‘It’s not her first rodeo’

Swift and Kelce, who has yet to be seen in Australia, partied hard after his big Super Bowl win, and despite not being able to spend Valentine’s Day together on Wednesday, he did the “most romantic thing” for her in Vegas.

The NFL star was seen dancing to Swift’s 2008 hit “You Belong with Me” while celebrating the win at Resorts World Zouk nightclub in Sin City. Swift was then heard raving about the moment in the cute video that has dawned on social networks.

The clip shows The Chainsmokers’ Drew Taggart — who was DJing at the party — and his girlfriend, model Marianne Fonseca, talking to the power couple at the club.

“I love how he came really fast when it was your song,” Fonseca Swift said in the video.

“It was the most romantic thing that ever happened to me,” the “22” hitmaker replied, before introducing himself to Fonseca.

Kelce then revealed that he almost didn’t make it to the dance floor in time to dance to the song.

– You were playing, and I was literally leaving the bathroom – he admitted. “I’m like, ‘Yeah!’ It was perfect timing.”

“And then we met in the middle,” Swift added. “I thought, ‘What is going on in my life right now?!'”

And while he hasn’t been spotted in Australia yet, in this week’s PEOPLE cover story, a source close to the Kelce family revealed that Kelce is willing to spend the offseason supporting Swift, as she did in more than a dozen games during his football season.

“Football is everything to him. He lives and breathes it. But now he’s ready to take some time and show up for Taylor like she is for him,” the insider said. “There’s definitely a lot of attention on them, but Travis has done a great job of deflecting attention and focusing on what’s important.”
