Taylor Swift Scores a Landmark 13th Week at No. 1 on Albums Chart After Brief Dip from Top Spot

Taylor Swift has another reason to love her “lucky number” 13!

On Sunday, August 4, the pop superstar’s latest album Department for tortured poets returned to the top spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart, marking the album’s 13th week at the top of the chart, according to Board.

During the “Cruel Summer” singer’s prolific 18-year career, none of her other albums came close to this record number of weeks at No. 1: Before Tortured poetsher biggest success for the album was 11 weeks at number one, which both ended Fearless and in 1989.

Swift’s achievement on the chart is made all the more impressive by the fact that Tortured poets‘ first 12 weeks at No. 1 were recorded consecutively, meaning the artist reigned at the top of the chart for nearly three consecutive months following the album’s release in April.

After the star was briefly dethroned at the end of July — with Eminem’s last album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) — wrote a touching message on Instagram for her fans who made the feat on the charts possible.

The endless dominance of the singer’s 11th studio album “Fortnight” has been fueled in part by a series of new variants of the album released by Swift — each packed with previously unseen demos of songs from Tortured poetslive performances from her record-breaking Eras Tour or even brand new songs.

The star surprised fans with one such release as recently as Saturday, when she released a digital version of the album featuring the “First Draft Voice Memo” version. Tortured poets the song “My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys,” which was only available for 24 hours on her website.

While Swift is no stranger to new chart-topping records this summer, she’s also racked up a few other accomplishments as her global Eras Tour makes its way through Europe — most recently making a three-night stop in Warsaw, Poland.

“I’m in a fantastic mood tonight,” she told the Polish crowd during her last night in the city, noting that the Eras Tour was the first concert tour to hold three sold-out nights at the PGE Narodowy Stadium.

Swift will next head to Vienna, Austria for three nights in the capital before returning to London for a five-day Eras Tour extravaganza at Wembley Stadium to close out her summer shows and the European leg of the tour.
