Following a 2018 deal with Universal Music Group, Swift secured ownership of her master recordings.

At the time, the “Karma” singer announced her “exciting” new chapter with her new “label family” after leaving Big Machine Records in a Tumblr post, according to a report from Diversityand she also discussed the financial aspect of work that was important to her in connection with Spotify.
