Taylor Swift’s Music Banned from Philadelphia Radio Station Ahead of Travis Kelce’s Eagles-Chiefs Game

Philadelphia Swifties will have to choose their radio stations carefully this weekend.

Ahead of the Super Bowl 57 rematch between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, local radio station Q102 will ban Taylor Swift’s music because of her relationship with boyfriend Travis Kelce, who plays tight end for the Chiefs.

“Q102 is kicking Taylor Swift off the radio all weekend because while Q102 loves Taylor Swift, we can’t get enough of her, this weekend it’s really important to show our support for the Birds,” Q102 host Nugget said in an interview with CBS Philadelphia News.

Once the outcome of the game is revealed, Swift’s music will reportedly return to the station on Tuesday.

Nugget isn’t the only Philadelphia native taking playful aim at Swift, 33, for her association with Travis, 34, and the Chiefs ahead of Sunday’s game. In an interview in Friday’s episode Show Tamron HallPatti LaBelle expressed a similar sentiment.

“You know what — let me say something. Taylor and all you ‘Swifties,’ go back boo-boo,” said the “Lady Marmalade” singer, 79. “[The Chiefs are] descending. The Eagles will win. It’s a done deal. So, I love you Taylor, but stay home.”

Swift, on the other hand, recently showed her appreciation for Travis’ team by changing the lyrics to “Karma” during her Eras Tour last week in Buenos Aires. She sang, “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me,” which drew thunderous applause from the audience and a wonderful reaction from the NFL star himself.

“Yeah, I had no idea that…” he began, before shifting gears and admitting, “Well, maybe I had a little idea, but definitely when I heard it come out of her mouth, [it] still shocked me.”

Jason, 35, said that “you could tell in the video” that Travis was shocked, referring to the widely circulated fan footage that captured the NFL player’s reaction to Swift’s yelling. “I was like, ‘Oh, she really said that,'” Travis said.
