The dad of missing British teenager Jay Slater made an emotional visit to the Tenerife search site to mark the first visit by a close family member.
A tearful Warren Slater, 58, said: “I just want my boy back” as he looked out over a 2,000-foot-deep gorge in the remote mountain village of Masca as the search for his son continues.

Mr Slater was supported by his son and Jay’s brother, Zak Slater, 24, who was too upset to comment when approached on the lookout.
Warren, wearing dark sunglasses, a hat and shorts, wrapped his arm around Zak as they took in the scene below.
Warren and Zak were also joined by eight of Jay’s friends at the lookout above Masca.
He said, “I just want the boy back.”
Meanwhile, mum Debbie Duncan, speaking outside the venue, said: “I’m just exhausted. I’m still hopeful. I don’t feel negative yet. I know it’s five days.
“It’s not just that they said absolutely no. I don’t know how it was today because I was advised to stay away because I would just break down.
“My boy could just be out there somewhere.
“We are all devastated. He’s just a normal boy from a small town in Lancashire. Such things do not happen. “
“I was in contact with him when he was in Tenerife. He was just on vacation, saving up and looking forward to it.
“I didn’t sleep for five days. My brain doesn’t work well, I’m tired and exhausted.”

Earlier today, devastated Debbie revealed a major breakthrough in the search for the missing teenager.
She said her son may have been seen with the two men about 10 hours after he was last seen on Monday morning in the remote village of Masca.
She revealed that a witness had gone to the officers and claimed to have seen Jay sitting on a bench with two men 3.5 miles away in Santiago del Teide.
The devastated mum said she now fears “something untoward” has happened to the teenager.
Debbie told Mail Online: “Someone called to say they saw someone they thought was Jay walking back down the street and sitting on a bench.
“He was with two men who looked a little worse for wear, they were by the church, this guy called and told the police about it and they are investigating.
“We don’t know if it was Jay for sure, but it’s a start.”
Debbie, 55, has been in Tenerife since Tuesday helping with a major police search for her 19-year-old son.
She revealed that the new sighting showed Jay’s possible movements by 6pm on Monday – some 10 hours after his missing person’s report was filed.
The worried mum said: “They said it was around 6pm, which is ten hours after the lady in the village saw him.

“But if it was him, what was he doing there and who are these two men?”
She added: “All I know is I’m going to stay here as long as it takes, I’m not going home unless it’s with Jay. I’m not going anywhere until they find him.”
The police have yet to confirm a new sighting of the missing teenager.
It came after rescue efforts focused on an area known locally as “the wastelands”, searching a 2,000-foot cliff in a remote park.
Pictures from the scene show police, firefighters, volunteers and sniffer dogs scanning the desolate Teno Nature Reserve, Jay’s last known location.
Locals and experts have warned of dangerous conditions in the area – where the air is “thin”, temperatures change rapidly and mountains drop precipitously to the water below.
Jay’s mum Debbie today criticized the investigation into her son’s disappearance for not allowing British police officers to give their input.
On Friday, Lancashire Police offered to help Spain’s Guardia Civil in their efforts to find the teenager.
But the local police rejected the offer and insisted they had the “resources” needed to find him.
The mum also told The Guardian she spent eight hours at the police station as they unveiled plans to step up rescue efforts.
At around 8am on Monday morning, Jay frantically called friend Lucy Law to tell her he was stranded in the “middle of nowhere”.
He said he had cut his leg on a cactus, was thirsty and was about to make the 10-hour journey home.
The panicked phone call was the last anyone heard of him.
A missing person’s report was filed around 9 a.m. that morning – triggering a day-long search.
It was later revealed that the Lancashire teenager was last seen by the owner of the Airbnb he was staying at on Sunday night.
Ophelia, the owner of the Casa Abuela Tina holiday home, said she saw him leaving on his own hill in the vast mountainous area near Masca.
Ophelia told MEN: “It’s dangerous to walk around, it’s easy to get lost. He was walking down the road when I last saw him.
“He was alone. He walked normally, though he was fast.”
It is understood the Airbnb was rented out by two men Jay returned with after the closing night of the NRG festival on Sunday.
