Esther’s relatives claim that the dogs – called Bear and Beauty – were “created in a small cabin”.
Daughter Sonia, 47, said: “How the hell can that be good for an animal? We are very angry.
“People complain about dogs. They’re not dogs.”
Last week it became a crime in England and Wales to own an XL Bully without an Exemption Certificate.
Ashley, whose rap name is Wyless Man, has previously been defiant, describing the rules as a “joke”.
He said yesterday: “I couldn’t support them enough now.”
He sobbed as he said his dogs loved Esther and were used to her petting them.
Ashley, from Jaywick, Essex, said she looked after the boy – whose mother Claire died two years ago aged 28 – while he went to London to film a music video.
He said: “Never in a million years have I seen [the dogs] as a risk.
“If my dogs did this to her, when I’ve seen nothing but love from them, then that breed just has a kill switch.

“I honestly thought the ban was a stupid government plan to eradicate a breed from which I had never seen anything but softness and love.
“Now I think they should be deleted.
“Ester meant everything to my son and everything to me. I am sorry for the loss of everyone, from the bottom of my heart.”
Ashley, 39, was held on suspicion of dangerous dog offenses and has been released on bail. Both dogs were destroyed.

Explanation of the Law on Dangerous Dogs
After eleven horrific attacks in 1991, Home Secretary Kenneth Baker vowed to “rid the country of the menace of these fighting dogs” by introducing the Dangerous Dogs Act.
The law is often seen as controversial because it focuses on a dog’s breed or appearance rather than the behavior of an individual dog and fails to stop the rise in dog attacks.
According to the RSPCA, more than a third of people killed by dogs since the law was passed have been attacked by legal breeds.
As of December 31 last year, it became illegal under the Act to sell, breed or give away XL Bully dogs.
From 1 February it became illegal to own an XL Bully dog in England and Wales without an exemption certificate.
Anyone who owns an XL Bully and does not comply with the strict rules will have their dog confiscated and face prosecution and a criminal record.
It comes after a spate of deadly attacks, which has led to 11 deaths linked to XL thugs in just three years.
