Based on a true story, it was a whirlwind, full of murder, mayhem and a lot of blackmail. Amazingly, both Ava and Nathan survived the season without becoming killers themselves. The West Side Ripper remained the only killer, though Max seemed interested in discovering Nathan’s dark side, which could be explored in a potential second season.
One positive outcome for Ava and Nathan in the finale was when Ava expressed her crush on a client but was rejected. She realizes that she doesn’t need such drama, and the client should distance himself from her dangerous life as soon as possible.
In the finale, Ava and Nathan disposed of Ruby’s body after she was killed by Matt. They demanded that Matt clean up the mess, but instead he threatened to include their friends in a surprise party at their old house. Ruby’s body was hidden in the trunk, and they were close when Simon almost caught them.
Matt claimed that leaving Ruby’s phone behind was a test of whether Ava and Nathan would take care of Simon if needed. Eventually, Ava and Nathan slyly dumped Ruby’s body at a construction site, hoping to get away with it once it was covered in concrete.
However, Simon discovered them cleaning up the blood, which put Ava and Nathan in a precarious situation. Simon’s knowledge of their secret adds to the tension, especially since he hasn’t noticed that his wife is missing. They may have to fulfill Matt’s dream and eliminate Simon to protect themselves.

In April 2022, Peacock ordered a comedy thriller series created by Craig Rosenberg and Jason Bateman.
