Tuesday’s episode of ‘The Bachelor’ also saw the tennis player’s remaining suitors try to solve what they thought was Maria
It looks like Maria will stay in Malta.
Tuesday’s episode Bachelor started with Maria, 29, cooled off and decided to continue fighting for Joey Graziadei’s heart, although Lea tried to question his decision to keep her while talking to the tennis pro, 28. After the cocktail party drew to a close, Joey was hosts its first international rose ceremony.
“I think each of you is an amazing woman who deserves only the best,” the bachelor told his remaining suitors. “But if you don’t get a rose tonight, it’s only because I’m trying to be honest and sincere about what I feel.”

Afterwards, Joey proceeded to present roses to Kelsey A., Katelyn, Daisy, Rachel, Jenn, Autumn, Jess, Madina and Leah, 23. That left Allison and Edwin to say their goodbyes.
Joey announced that the remaining ladies would go to Andalucia, Spain.
FIRST ONE ON ONE
Kelsey A., 25, caught the first one-on-one in Spain. She and Joey started their date by going to get ham and feeding each other the meat.
“There’s something about Kelsey that feels so right, so natural,” Joey said in an on-camera interview.

They continued the day by joining a pickup soccer game.
During the evening portion of the date, Kelsey A. wanted to tell Joey about her mom. Kelsey A. explained that her parents met in the military and that her mom was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago.
“They gave her six months,” said Kelsey A. “After that it was very aggressive and after, I think about two months, she passed away. This is kind of hard just because I’m like, I know they’re at the end of the engagement, and it’s just sometimes hard for me to think about my mom not being at my wedding.”
Joey gave Kelsey A. a comforting hug – and a rose.
“I had such a great time exploring Spain with you,” said Joey Kelsey A. “I couldn’t have asked for a better day in so many ways. I knew going into this I needed to find someone who was compassionate and kind and empathetic and understanding and loving and that just oozes out of you. And I want you to know that your mom would be so proud of the woman you got through this whole thing. I just feel so happy and so excited about the potential future.”
Kelsey A. accepted the rose. “I’m on cloud nine right now,” the junior project manager told the cameras.
GROUP DATE
For the group date, Lexi, 30, Daisy, 25, Jenn, 25, Autumn, 26, Maria, Katelyn, 25, Madina, 31, Lea, 23, Jess, 24, and Kelsey T., 31, met a mixed creator Paula asked the media to choose a quote and turn it into a picture. Whoever delivered the quote the most clearly won overtime with Joey.
Joey also participated, posing with his engagement ring. Maria painted her struggling Sydney on one side and then her and Joey meeting on the other side. Joey thought Katelyn painted him pulling on his heartstrings while he saw the elephant in Kelsey T.’s picture of half a heart.
“It’s definitely not what I imagined,” the actress said to the cameras.
Jess showed off her engagement ring and wedding band, which gave her the win. She and Joey stripped down to their bathing suits and took pictures of each other during their extra time together.
At the after party, Joey started by pulling Jenn over to talk.

“It was nice when you turned your picture, I knew exactly what it was, a reminder of how special that day was,” said Joey Jenn. “I just want to let you know that I noticed.”
Joey said in an on-camera interview that he thinks he and Jenn “make a lot of sense together.”
He then spoke to Kelsey T. “There’s this level of ease,” he told her of their connection.
When Maria talked to Joey, she told him about her mother’s absence from her life growing up.

“She and I got into a really, really, really bad car accident when I was a year old,” the executive assistant revealed. “The cement truck actually fell on my mom’s car. It was very bad. It’s crazy to even think about it. My car seat was in pieces. I was literally pronounced dead on the spot. Like it was in the papers as a miracle at the time and like… it was a very scary situation. My mom broke almost every bone in her body.”
As a result, “my mom wasn’t there for most of my childhood, she wasn’t able to be the mother she really wanted to be,” Maria said.
Joey appreciated Maria opening up to him. “There’s a lot more to Maria and I’m finally happy that I’m starting to see that,” he said in an on-camera interview.
Accordingly, Joey gave Maria a date rose, which upset Lea.
– My heart is in my ass – said Lea to the cameras. “I don’t know who Maria is when she walks into the room with Joey, but she gives a damn good performance.”
ANOTHER ONE ON ONE
Rachel and Joey took part in a one-on-one flamenco show – then learned how to do the moves themselves. They both changed into real dancing shoes, but Joey didn’t like how they looked with his shorts.
“Today’s shorts and boots combo is something I really should have thought about,” Joey told the cameras. “Just say what it is: nobody can tell me that I look good now, it’s just impossible.”

When Rachel, 26, saw Joey in shorts and boots, she said: “The legs are giving away.”
Joey said he was uncomfortable at first learning the steps, but watching Rachel move with ease helped him. “She not only has the beat, but she brings so much fun to it,” he said in an on-camera interview.
After learning to play flamenco, Joey and Rachel changed into dance clothes and performed in front of the audience. “He made me feel very comfortable and safe with him,” Rachel told the cameras.
At dinner, Rachel shared with Joey that her previous partners had struggled with her job as a nurse. “It’s a lot to take on emotionally when you have a partner in the medical field,” Rachel said, adding that “it’s a big part of me.”
Joey understood. “You have to have someone to talk to about it,” he said.
He offered Rachel a rose and hoped that their relationship would grow.
“I’m hoping that the slow burn with Rachel will continue to burn and it’ll be a full raging fire at the end of this where we’re actually in love,” Joey said in an on-camera interview.
COCKTAIL PARTY AND ROSE CEREMONY
The cocktail party seemed to be going smoothly until Maria interrupted Katelyn and Joey’s conversation and asked if she could spend some time with him. When Katelyn reported this to the group, Jess took great offense because Maria already had the rose.
“That’s disrespectful,” Jess declared.

However, Katelyn defended Maria. “She was very, very sweet about interrupting,” said the radiochemist.
Lexi said on camera that she thinks, “Jess is just a little jealous of Maria.”
After Maria returned to the group, Jess confronted her, reiterating that she finds it disrespectful for Maria to talk to Joey when she already has the rose. Maria asked “in what way” Jess found it disrespectful, and Jess didn’t have an answer.
Instead, Jess got up and left crying. Lea followed her.

“I’m so over this s— with Maria,” Jess shouted to the cameras.
Host Jesse Palmer declared the end of the cocktail party and everyone headed to the rose ceremony.
Joey gave the fawns to Jenn, Kelsey T., Daisy, Lea, Lexi, Katelyn, and Jess, leaving Madina and Autumn to pack their bags.
