Lesley Murphy, a bachelor’s student, is now married. Lesley married fiancé Alex Kavanagh on October 14 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Maui Kapalua, after being engaged to him for two years. The couple married on Friday and their 20-month-old daughter Nora is a florist. According to Lesley,
“We were so devoted to each other that we felt like husband and wife. But to have our special day and finally be allowed to name each other husband and wife was priceless.”
Alex Kavanagh is a licensed drone operator.
According to his LinkedIn page, Lesley Murphy’s husband, Alex Kavanagh, is the creative director and creator of DRONEGEAR, “the first standalone drone sharing platform on Instagram in 2013.” Alex Kavanagh, born in Australia, is a CASA and FAA certified drone pilot. His work has appeared in halftime commercials for the World Baseball and Super League, as well as Emmy Award-nominated work on National Geographic.
Alex worked as a carpenter before joining Drones. When asked about his work, he told Pelican.com:
“I’m a carpenter and a businessman who happened to pick up a camera.” That led to wanting to control that camera remotely.”
He began his career as a freelance creative director at Western Digital, XOAR Propeller and The Tiffen Company, among others, after discovering his passion, before becoming a successful entrepreneur. founded his own company in 2013. Kavanagh, 35, is also “creative director at SDSU’s Development Center for Drone Technology and a CRPAA (Certified Remote Pilots Association) board member. Alex is passionate about drones and everything related to them, but if he could do anything else, he wanted to be an “astronaut” and explore space.
Stayin’ Alive by the Bee Gees motivates him in the morning and a catchphrase he uses when he’s struggling is:
“Let’s continue to be creative. Do not give up.”

A look at the marriage of Lesley Murphy and Alex Kavanagh.
Lesley, owner of The Road Less Traveled, LLC, began dating Alex in late 2017. The couple went public in January 2018 with a photo of them kissing while on vacation in Norway. The couple got engaged on February 4, 2020, and shared the news on Instagram two days later, two days after Alex proposed in Manhattan Beach, California. The couple announced that they were expecting their first child on September 27, 2020, and a year later, the Arkansas native gave birth to a baby girl, Nora, in February 2021.
The couple had hoped to hold their wedding earlier but were forced to postpone the wedding due to the COVID-19 epidemic. On October 13, the bride and groom held a welcome party at their home before their wedding. Lesley has this to say about the party:
“It just turned into a big rehearsal dinner. We want to thank everyone for coming to our wedding.”
On October 14, 2022, the couple exchanged traditional vows in front of 71 guests in Maui. When asked about the wedding date, the bride said:
“I’ve always wanted to have my wedding outdoors. I love Mother Nature, and being surrounded by palm trees and water is breathtaking.”
Lesley made her debut on Sean Lowe’s 2013 show The Bachelor, but was kicked out before her homecoming date. She then joined The Bachelor Winter Games, where she met and began dating Dean Unglert. Dean invited Lesley to move in with him in February 2018. However, the couple broke up that April. Lesley and Alex, a newlywed couple, are looking forward to a fresh start as husband and wife.
