Clayton Echard and Susie Evans’ relationship on The Bachelor
Clayton Echard and Susie Evans, the Bachelor couple, had a rough start on the reality show. Susie left the show when Clayton admitted that he had fallen in love with and had sex with two other finalists, Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia. The women were stunned, but Susie was devastated when she admired Clayton. The former footballer then sent Susie home for their dream date on The Bachelor on March 8, 2022, saying he didn’t want to “fight” for their love. Susie then said:
“Knowing that I have an engagement in a week and there are some things I can’t compromise on.” I don’t think I’ll feel comfortable [saying yes] if I share your feelings with others.
Clayton defended himself by saying:
“I had a feeling of love towards [them]so I slept with that person to discover what the spiritual connection was. “If you love someone, you just have to ask for it.”
On the other hand, Clayton fell in love with Susie long after she left the show. He then tried to mend their friendship after The Bachelor ended. Clayton “didn’t believe it was going to happen,” especially given how their relationship ultimately ended. Susie revealed during the After the Final Rose special:
“After the concert, we took a break and reset.” We’re thrilled, and we’re delighted to be here today.”
The former couple moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia, just days after confirming their affair on the show. They share loving photos on their personal Instagram accounts, letting viewers see their love. However, after a few months, the couple decided to try long distance love to “realize” their wishes. Clayton told Dear Media’s Not Skinny but Not Fat podcast host Amanda Hirsch about their future together:
“I mean, I use the computer 10 to 12 hours a day.” So she said, Clayton, I’m going to LA, and then we can see each other over the weekend. And we’ll see what happens. We’re not sure if we’d enjoy the long ride.”
In addition:
“We don’t seem to know if this will last a month [relationship] or a long term relationship, but without the pressure.” Let’s love and be happy for each other.”
Clayton and Susie broke up because “external pressures” put a strain on their relationship. The former couple are now “focused on continuing to work” for themselves.
