Netflix, known for its extensive adult collection, is preparing to release a new series called The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself. Jay Lycurgo will lead and Nadia Parkes and Emilien Vekemans will assist. Lycurgo will play Nathan Byrne, the bastard son of Marcus Edge, the world’s most dangerous wizard, in the YA show. Half Bad, The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself, based on the fantasy book by Sally Green, is due out on Friday, October 28, 2022.
The series, which consists of eight hour-long episodes, will premiere on Netflix on Fridays at 3 a.m. ET (or midnight PT). Since Netflix typically releases a large number of episodes, it is reasonable to expect that all of those episodes will be available to watch on Friday.

Nathan, the illegitimate child of a white witch (the oppressive majority culture) and a black man, is the protagonist of Bastard & the Devil himself (a minority seen as evil). ). Nathan was designated a Half-Cypher after his mother was murdered, and was frequently scrutinized by the White Council of Witches due to his black bloodline.
After breaking one of the White Witch Council’s laws, Nathan was placed under their direct control and assigned a new guardian, Celia. The rest of the plot follows Nathan breaking free of Celia’s tyrannical control and reconnecting with his father, arguably the world’s most dangerous wizard Marcus Edge. The source material for The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself, originally intended for a film, was a huge success.
Half Bad, the first volume of the trilogy, was released in 2014 and was originally intended to be made into a feature film. Karen Rosenfelt, best known for The Twilight Saga and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, has been hired to produce. However, the project remained unfinished until Netflix announced in 2020 that it would produce a TV series based on the Half-Bad trilogy.
Half Bad sets two Guinness World Records: ‘Most translated book by a debut author, before publication’ and ‘Most translated children’s book by a debut author, prior to publication’ .’ The text was in great demand and the foreign rights were quickly sold out. The work was also nominated for the prestigious Branford Boase Award and won the 2015 Waterstones Teen Book Award.
