The Best Psychic-Type Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet

There are 18 Pokémon types in which players can choose from when playing Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the newest game in this franchise. There are 105 Psychic-type Pokémon, eight having been recently introduced. The newest Psychic-type Pokémon are as follows: Armarouge, Espartha, Firagiraf, Flittle, Rabsca, Rellor, Scream Tail, and Veluza.

Psychic-type Pokémon have been the most powerful Pokémon since Generation 1 and continue to be in the newest game. This is simply because Psychic-type Pokémon can defeat many more creatures than other Pokémon types. Furthermore, not many Pokémon can defend against this Pokémon. In general, Bug-, Dark-, and Ghost-type Pokémon are most effective when defending against a Psychic-type Pokémon. Additionally, these Pokémon have abilities unique to them that can cause massive damage to an opponent. Such moves include Zen Headbutt and Hyperspace Hole.

Gardevoir

Gardevoir is a Psychic/Fairy-type Pokémon with a BST of 518. This Pokémon is the second evolution and is evolved from Kirlia. Gardevoir’s abilities include Synchronize, Telepathy, and Trace, making it advantageous against Dragon-, Fighting-, and Psychic-type opponents. This creature is weak to Ghost-, Poison-, and Steel-type Pokémon.

Farigiraf

Farigiraf is a Normal/Psychic-type Pokémon that has a BST of 520. This Pokémon can be evolved from Girafarig. This creature’s abilities include Armor Tail, Cud Chew, and Sap Sipper. While this Pokémon is very powerful against Ghost- and Psychic-type Pokémon, it is weak to Bug- and Dark-type opponents.

Armarouge

Armarouge is a Fire/Psychic-type Pokémon with a BST score of 525. This Pokémon is the second evolution and can be evolved from Charcadet. Abilities include Flash Fire and Weak Armor. Although Armarouge is weak to many more Pokémon than other Psychic-type Pokémon, it can resist many more opponents. Armarouge is a useful ally when battling Fairy-, Fighting-, Fire-, Grass-, Ice-, Psychic-, and Steel-type opponents. Armarouge is weak to Dark-, Ghost, Ground-, Rock-, and Water-type Pokémon. It is important to note that this Pokémon is Scarlet exclusive.

Espeon

Espeon is a pure Psychic-type Pokémon that also has a BST score of 525. This Pokémon is evolved from Eevee and its abilities include Magic Bounce and Synchronize, making Espeon advantageous to use against Fighting- and Psychic-type creatures. Like all other pure Psychic-type Pokémon, Espeon is weak to Bug-, Dark-, and Ghost-type Pokémon.

Scream Tail

Scream Tail is a Fairy- and Psychic-type Pokémon with a BST of 570. Unlike a lot of Pokémon, this creature does not have any known evolutions. Scream Tail’s abilities include Protosynthesis, making it able to resist Fighting- and Psychic-type Pokémon. Additionally, this Pokémon is immune to Dragon-type creatures. Scream Tail is weak to Ghost-, Poison-, and Steel-type Pokémon. It is important to note that this is exclusive to Scarlet.

Not only do Psychic-type Pokémon bring massive combat power to a trainer’s team, they are also able to defeat a larger array of Pokémon compared to other types. Additionally, these Pokémon can defend against more Pokémon than average. That being said, Psychic-type Pokémon are very versatile, especially the newest additions found in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
