The Bold and the Beautiful’s Heather Tom Cries in Public While Writing Scenes: 'Really Embarrassing' (Exclusive)

Over the years, the daily soap of Vet Heather Tom, who played the public Queen Katie Logan Bold and beautiful Since 2007, she has had a lot to cry – at least when she is in character.

Known for being one of the best wings in the soap genre, Tom, 49, was awarded his talent with six daily Emmy, for his work on his work B & b And also on the sister’s soap Young and restlesswhere she played heir to Victoria Newman from 1990 to 2003 (she also starred Kelly Cramer One life for a living from 2003 to 2006)

Although “logistically challenging” by juggling of all these roles on the fast set, Tom says, “I’m really excited about it.”

So how does she manage to wear two behind the scene and still knock the emotion the scene requires when she is in front of the camera? Everything applies to “giant roles,” she explains. “I enjoy acting, directing, writing, seeing emissions with big, high, important, giant roles. When you make roles high enough and big enough and really lean in these roles, then put yourself in a situation where there is there, if there is an emotion there.”

As for crying, this is quite easy. “I mean, my characters have had a lot of posters in the last 30 years, so I had a lot of practice,” she says. “But I think it’s mostly just leaning in the roles.”

It just doesn’t manage to make its tearful channels when the cameras roll. “Sometimes when I write a show,” she says. “I like to go to a cafe or something like that because I like the company around me. But I’ll find myself crying through the scenes I write, and it’s really embarrassing, but it’s just like you just have to put yourself in that position, in that situation and really think about what emotion would be in those situations.”

For Katie, these situations included postpartum depression and reception of heart transplantation after her brother died with suicide so she could have his heart. “He gave me such an amazing material Bold and beautiful“Tom says.” Really I really have had that lucky that [showrunner and head writer] Brad [Bell] He believed me with so many wonderful stories. ”

“And what I love in the character, Katie, is that the things that happened to her really changed who she was and changed the dynamics of who the character is. And I always appreciate it, where you have a big story and that actually changes the worldview of your character.”

Katie hasn’t been crying much lately, and that’s right with that. “I love where Katie is currently, where she is in my life,” Tom says. “I think women have really got into their own, because they become a little older, and I feel like she is currently in that position to have a relationship with a true equal. And I would love to see everything that comes to her, see something that is challenging, and also romantic and fulfills what she is.”

So are there any B & b The characters Tom has a view of Katie? “Oh, come on. There are a lot of men to have,” she says with a laugh. But seriously, she adds, “You can never exclude anyone. The rule is if you are not connected to your blood and it is confirmed that you are connected to your blood, that anyone is now a fair game.”
