Diana, meet Diana.
CrownThe two Princess Diana costars, Elizabeth Debicki and Emma Corrin, met for the first time on the red carpet for Tuesday’s series finale. The pair embraced as their worlds collided at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

Debicki, 33, played the late Princess of Wales Crown for the past two seasons, and she’s the last Diana fans will see as the Netflix series comes to a close with Season 6. She spoke with PEOPLE in November following the premiere of last season’s first installment, which chronicles Diana’s final months.
The first installment is told in four episodes and deals with the events surrounding the tragic death of Princess Diana in 1997 along with love interest Dodi Fayed (played by Khalid Abdalla). The second part will be released on December 14 with six additional episodes, focusing on the aftermath of the accident and the future of the monarchy.
“All the scenes leading up to the end of this season were cumulatively — very difficult,” she told PEOPLE exclusively. “We filmed them for several weeks. I think shooting the sequences where the two characters are actually being chased by the paparazzi was a really horrible experience. He’s very physical.”

She continued: “It felt almost like being under water. You are only kind in this swamp of noise, harassment, persecution. As an actor playing a role, the character is constantly focused on where he’s trying to get to, but there’s just an accumulation of obstacles in the way of getting there, and it’s been a very difficult, exhausting experience. ”

As PEOPLE previously confirmed, the impact of the car accident that resulted in Princess Diana’s death will not be shown in the Crown. Executive producers Andy Harries and Suzanne Mackie later emphasized at the Edinburgh TV Festival that the scenes depicting the tragedy were approached with care and sensitivity.

“Work on Crown it was the most magical experience thanks in no small part to the amazing cast and crew who supported me and helped me through it, including my wonderful friend, Josh O’Connor who is still so deservedly recognized today,” said Corrin. “It was a privilege to be a part of it Crown family and show our version of Diana … ‘Well, you know, by being a crazy tree.’ ”
